The Port Washington High School football team will kick off its season this Thursday, but the home bleachers are under construction. The central portion has been cordoned off, and the east side of the bleachers needs footing replacements. An engineer who inspected the bleachers found that they’re safe to sit on, but the deteriorating condition of the bleachers has many residents concerned. The Port Washington Parks and Recreation Department abruptly canceled a range of activities last week due to the resignation of their director, Kiley Scherer.
